eBay, the largest marketplace of America, declared that it has completed the sale of its communications unit-- Skype-- to an investor group for $2 billion. In a statement eBay Inc said the previously announced sale has been completed and as part of the deal "eBay received about $1.9 billion in cash and a note from the buyer in the principal amount of $125 million".

The shipping ministry has objected to environment ministry s proposal to draft a new policy on development of ports, fearing that it could prove fatal for the government s ambitious National Maritime Development Programme (NMDP). The State Bank of India (SBI) has turned down any chance of hike in interest rates in its credit portfolio in the coming six months. The bank also thinks the stimulus packages announced by the government should not be withdrawn suddenly. Instead, it should be allowed to continue till real growth was witnessed in the economy. Operating margins for major players are expected to come in at between 10% and 12% and may be lower than those that they report for 2009-10. For the better part of the year 2008 and 2009, analysts have been predicting a glut of cement in the market and a consequent drop in prices.
